From startup to aquaculture leader – Years of continuous innovation
West Coast Aquatics LLP was officially registered under the Companies Act in 2020, marking the beginning of a vision-driven journey in aquaculture and fisheries development. In the same year, the company established its fish seed production unit at Isapur, Yavatmal, equipped with modern hatchery infrastructure. With strong technical leadership backed by over 26 years of experience in aquaculture, the foundation was laid for producing high-quality fish seeds and genetically improved varieties to serve farmers across the region.
In 2021, West Coast Aquatics LLP became the first registered GIFT Tilapia hatchery in the state, reinforcing our leadership position in advanced aquaculture. Additionally, we were officially registered with NFFBB as a Network Hatchery, enabling us to produce and distribute genetically improved fish seeds across wider markets. This year strengthened our credibility and expanded our technical capabilities.
By 2022, the company achieved significant regulatory and quality milestones.Our hatchery obtained State Accreditation Certification, validating our commitment to maintaining high production standards and biosecurity measures.We successfully expanded our production portfolio to include more than 11 fish species, including several genetically improved varieties. Our fish seeds were supplied to multiple regions across the country, establishing our reputation as a reliable and scalable seed production partner for fish farmers nationwide.
In 2023, the company emerged as the largest fish seed producer in the state. Our consistent production quality, volume capacity, and farmer outreach efforts earned us the prestigious Highest Fish Seed Producer Award from the State Fisheries Department. This recognition validated our operational excellence, quality assurance systems, and our contribution toward strengthening the aquaculture ecosystem and rural employment generation.
Building on our production strength, 2024 marked a phase of innovation and diversification. We introduced value-added fish products such as fish sausages, smoked Tilapia, fish fertilizers and conducted trials on fish seed vaccination under the expert guidance of CIFE. To address market challenges in live fish distribution, we developed advanced live fish transport and marketing technology. This year also strengthened our role as a solutions-driven company combining science, technology, and commercial scalability.
In 2025, West Coast Aquatics LLP was officially recognized as an Indian Startup, highlighting our innovation-driven growth journey. Expanding beyond hatchery operations, we entered customized sourcing of premium seaweed products and fish hydrolysates across the Indian coastline. Leveraging our technical expertise in marine bio-stimulants and protein hydrolysates, we positioned ourselves as a global B2B sourcing partner, providing export-compliant, quality-assured, and customized formulations for international buyers.
